King Heffy goes Kosher in time for the Summer season!

Four of Howe Sound Brewing Company's original ales have been certified by Kosher Check. King Heffy Imperial Hefeweizen has been approved by Kosher check and is now a certified Kosher ale. A double gold winner in the North American Beer Awards and winner of Canadian Brewing Gold, this big hefeweizen stands alone among wheat ales.

Fourway Fruit Ale, Whitecap Wheat and You're My Boy Blue Blueberry Wheat Ale are also now certified Kosher. These wheat beers are available in BC and for limited release in some other provinces. King Heffy enjoys wider distribution in the Canadian and US markets.

Richard Wood from Kosher Check stated: "With the advent of microbreweries, it has become common for beer to contain problematic ingredients such as isinglass, gelatin and colouring agents. Some breweries also add dairy ingredients such as chocolate or lactose to beers. Today many people prefer to purchase Kosher certified products including Beer to ensure that no animal by-products have been added. According to market research Kosher has been the most frequent claim on new products launched in North America since 2005, outselling Organic, all natural and no additive products."

Each year, Howe Sound Brewing attempts to provide new and innovative beers to a local and international audience in order to promote Canadian craft beer. "With Kosher certification, Howe Sound beers can adapt to a new and ever expanding marketplace. With over 11 million US residents purchasing Kosher products, it seems a natural fit that a number of our beers should be certified Kosher", said Dave Fenn, co-owner of Howe Sound Brewing.

During 2014, Howe Sound expanded across Canada and into the US, where the interest in craft beer and new artisan styles is growing rapidly. "As a craft brewery, we feel it's important to continually adapt along the lines of new flavours, creative marketing and new forms of certification and market segmentation as well. The Kosher brand is one part of that," said Fenn.
Howe Sound beers are being shipped across Canada and also are now available in the Ontario LCBO as a regular listing. In 2013, 2x4 Brewing and Distribution introduced Howe Sound Brewing into a larger mainstream market in the US, as part of the "Canada's Select Brews" label.

Howe Sound Brewing is based in Squamish, BC and has been brewing delicious craft ales and lagers since 1996. It brews and ships a full range of lagers and ales to BC, Alberta, across Canada and to eleven states in the U.S.

Kosher Check is a globally accepted Kosher Certification, providing Kosher supervision on five continents to food manufacturers such as Howe Sound Brewery, Merck Pharmaceuticals, Kerry Foods, Kemin Bioscience, Golden Boy Foods, Legumex Walker to name a few.
